  • "Pure Devotion", named after the live series of the same name from 2024, marks a further step in Overmono's development. Behind the project are brothers Tom and Ed Russell, who have been active in the British electronic scene for years - both together and through their solo projects Tessela and Truss. These experiences from the UK underground form the basis of their sound to this day. The album deliberately combines blurriness, technical imperfection and random moments with a clear artistic stance.

Over the course of eleven tracks, Overmono expand their production approach and draw on unusual means: analog synthesizers from the 70s and 80s, old speaker systems or experimental sound processing. The result is controlled, organic and always driving. The vocals also contribute to the atmosphere - from John Joseph Holt, Kindora and Ruthven, among others. Overall, "Pure Devotion" focuses more on emotionality and depth of sound than on pure functionality in a club context.

The project developed from a readjustment of their live show and took shape in parallel with their touring activities. Following the success of their debut album Good Lies (2023), which brought them greater attention and international appearances, Overmono played numerous festivals and their own shows, including Glastonbury and Alexandra Palace in London. During this phase, new music was created, which was later further developed in retreats such as Spain and Iceland.

The single "Lockup" exemplifies the duo's approach: direct, rhythmically present structures meet more restrained, emotional elements. Pure Devotion therefore seems less like a break and more like a consistent further development - characterized by experience, curiosity and the ambition to explore their own approach further. Overmono are a new force in international club culture.
