Sunny Day Real Estate's third album, "How It Feels to Be Something On", is back on vinyl after more than ten years of waiting. In 1997, Sub Pop wanted to put together a rarities album of the band and asked the band members for support. However, because there were only a few usable songs, founding members Jeremy Enigk and Dan Hoerner decided to write new material with which to refine the old tracks.
The result was a completely new album in just a few days. Without Mendel, who was still on the road with the Foo Fighters, Sunny Day Real Estate reunited to record "How It Feels to Be Something On". Originally released in the fall of 1998, the band broke up after the 2000 album "The Rising Tide", but recorded another album under a different name in 2003 before reuniting for a series of concerts in 2010.
