  • Perhaps the best soundtrack to perhaps the best Tarantino movie contains many great R&B numbers. Besides classics like 'Didn't I Blow Your Mind' (The Delfonics), 'Across 110th Street', (Bobby Womack) 'Strawberry Letter 23' (Brothers Johnson), an alternative and funkier version of Randy Crawford's 'Street Life' and Bill Withers' 'Who Is He...' it's the rather unknown tracks from Tarantino's record box that are the most exciting.

    There's the buttery soul ballad ',Natural High' by Bloodstone, the uptempo soul rammer 'Midnight Confessions' by the Grass Roots, the evil psychedelic funk 'The Lions And The Cucumber' by Vampire Sound Incorporation and the blaxploitation surf sound bastard 'Monte Carlo Nights' by Elliot Easton's Tiki Gods. You can also swallow the hip-hop of Foxy Brown and Johnny Cash's live version of Tennessee Stud. As in Pulp Fiction, the fancy soundtrack reflects Tarantino's occasionally weird humour, and even though "The Tennessee Stud" may seem a bit strange at first, this title underlines the unique character of the QT movies after listening to it several times.
